The “old” Veterans Memorial Building was built over fifty years ago by the local veterans groups and interested citizens, and was governed during that time by the ‘Memorial Building Corporation, Burlington Veterans’. In July of 2008, this organization deeded the property to the city. The city then leased the property to the Burlington Community Fund, Ltd., which is accomplishing the fund-raising, renovation and expansion of the new facility.
