Veterans Terrace at Echo Park is managed by the Burlington Community Fund, a non-profit organization, which is responsible for the current renovation and expansion. Profits from the operation of Veterans Terrace at Echo Park will be returned to Burlington community programs, charities and organizations through its non-profit status. Some organizations that will benefit from the profits of the Veterans Terrace include Love Inc., St. Vincent de Paul and the Transitional Living Center. The Veterans Terrace at Echo Park is uniquely designed to generate funds for these and other community organizations.
The facility will be maintained and managed by Memorial Terrace Management Group, Inc., which is a subsidiary of Burlington Community Fund, Ltd., a non-profit 501c3 organization.
Burlington Community Fund
The Burlington Community Fund is a public benefit, not-for-profit, tax exempt entity organized for charitable purposes. The organization is aimed toward improving the quality of life for Burlington and the surrounding area.
The Community fund has the ability and responsibility to receive tax-deductible donations, use those donations in a most judicious manner, and distribute excess revenue to other non-profit organizations in the area. The goal of the BCF is to help make a positive impact through other organizations that provide help for the needy, youth programs, and general support.
At present, there is no exclusive Burlington entity, such as United Way, that can be a liaison between donors who want to make a difference and organizations that provide services and programs in our area. BCF is able to connect people who care with causes dedicated to the community of Burlington, Wisconsin. Corporations and businesses will have the ability to consolidate their giving, and philanthropy can flourish.
We hope you will join us to make this venture a wonderful success for Burlington.
The first and main project undertaken by the BCF is the renovation of the former Veterans Memorial Building, now known as Veterans Terrace at Echo Park. This project is important to the Burlington community in several ways:
- re-emphasizes a debt of gratitude to all veterans
- veterans groups, service organizations and clubs, companies and youth groups are in need of a local meeting place
- promotes economic growth
- draws people to the downtown area
- renewed sense of community pride for the people of Burlington
- all excess revenue is returned to the community
The Burlington Community Fund also continues the Memorial Brick Program. With this project, the citizens of Burlington are able to make their mark at the beautiful Memorial Terrace at Veterans Terrace. Memorial bricks give citizens the ability to honor someone (they need not be a veteran) or to remember a special event.
